Community Engagement Manager – Full Time, Permanent, Hybrid

 

ROLE PROFILE
Reporting to the Executive Director and working in close partnership with the Director, Partnerships & Programs and the CEO, the Community Engagement Manager is responsible for elevating the member experience, driving membership growth, and deepening member participation across Axis Connects and Board Ready Women (BRW).

This role serves as the connective tissue between our community, our programming, and our communications. They lead the marketing and communications function, oversee our CRM (GlueUp) to track engagement, and lead in the execution of events and programs. The Community Engagement Manager is a relationship-builder, event planner, storyteller, data translator, and community champion, ensuring members feel informed, connected, and supported throughout their journey.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Community Engagement Manager is accountable for implementing member engagement strategies that foster a strong, vibrant, and growing community. This individual owns the end-to- end communications ecosystem – newsletters, campaigns, social media, website updates, and CRM management – to enhance visibility, improve reach, and ensure consistent, high-quality experiences across all member touchpoints.

Working collaboratively with the Director of Partnerships & Programs, the role supports the planning and execution of events and programs, ensuring the member experience is considered at every stage. They are responsible for planning small (15 person “Lunch with a Leader” events) to large, flagship events. They must be adept in analyzing engagement data, identifying opportunities to increase participation, and implementing targeted strategies to strengthen member retention and experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
MEMBERSHIP EXPERIENCE & COMMUNITY GROWTH

    • Implement the member engagement strategy for Axis Connects and Board Ready Women, ensuring a seamless and positive experience from onboarding through ongoing participation.
    • Develop and implement initiatives to grow overall membership and increase attendance at programs, events, and digital offerings.
    • Serve as the primary contact for member inquiries, support, and relationship management.
    • Monitor member satisfaction and collect feedback to inform continuous improvement.
    • Build targeted engagement campaigns that drive awareness of programs, events, and benefits.
    • Support the Executive Director in developing and executing strategies to convert contacts into members, including corporate membership opportunities.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS LEADERSHIP

    • Own the marketing and communications functions and channels for Axis Connects and BRW, ensuring a consistent brand voice and high-quality content.
    • Manage the full content ecosystem, including:
      • Biweekly and event-specific newsletters
      • Social media content and scheduling
      • Website updates
      • Press releases or media content (as required)
    • Develop an annual communications calendar aligned with organizational priorities, revenue cycles, and event timelines.
    • Create compelling storytelling that showcases the impact of Axis Connects and BRW programs, events, and partnerships.
    • Monitor digital analytics and engagement data to refine strategies and improve performan

CRM MANAGEMENT

    • Manage the member database to ensure accurate member profiles, clean data, and
      meaningful analytics.
    • Build engagement dashboards and visualizations to help leadership understand member
      behaviour, trends, and opportunities.
    • Oversee email campaign management, segmentation, and performance reporting
      through the CRM.
    • Support the Director and Executive Director in maximizing CRM capabilities for
      sponsorship stewardship, event management, and reporting.

EVENT & PROGRAM SUPPORT

    • Work closely with the Director, Partnerships & Programs to support the execution of
      major events and recurring programs across Axis Connects and BRW.
    • Support speaker, sponsor, and member communications related to upcoming events.
    • Assist in event promotion, registration management, digital campaigns, and day-of
      logistics where required.
    • Ensure event and program communications reflect member needs and encourage both
      participation and community-building.
    • Collect and analyze post-event feedback, synthesizing insights for the Director and
      Executive Director.

SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3–5+ years of experience in membership management, community building, marketing,
      communications, or related roles.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong sense of brand voice.
    • Some knowledge/experience with CRM systems.
    • Strong project coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform decisions.
    • Relationship-builder with excellent customer-service instincts.
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, mission-driven organization.
    • Experience in planning and executive dynamic and and creative events.
